What features have been upgraded on the all-new CLS?
The redesigned CLS will come with a sportier look. A host of standard features that include AMG® styling include an AMG®-specific front bumper with A-wing in black, AMG® sill trim on the side, a front, distinctive air intakes with vertical bars. There will be two new designs that will feature 19-inch light-alloy wheels or 20-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels. The interior of the CLS has been enhanced as well with two new trim finishes, Open Pore Brown Walnut and High-Gloss Grey Wood. It will also receive an updated multifunction steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and accented with silver chrome edging and the paddle shifters in silver chrome.
Will the 2022 CLS be Hybrid?
The CLS will offer a 4MATIC® mild-hybrid powertrain. The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline engine with an integrated starter-generator 48-volt electrical system with an output of up to 21 hp and up to 184 lb-ft electric boosts. This motor will also offer Energy recovery and the possibility to “glide” with the engine switched off. Electrification also allows the use of an electric refrigerant compressor for the air conditioning system.
What kind of driver-assist features will be on the 22 CLS?
The redesigned CLS will provide drivers with confidence and safety features. New, the safety family is the Active Brake Assist system. This system comes standard on all CLS models and will break for stationary vehicles and cross pedestrians at typical city speeds. Mercedes’s Active Speed Limit Assist monitors speed limit changes using map data as well as input from Traffic Sign Assist and will adjust speeds if it detectives a curve, roundabouts, and toll booths, as well as before turning or exiting the highway., Active Stop-and-Go Assist can control the vehicle in the lane and maintaining a distance of up to approximately 37 mph. Thanks to the Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and a 360° camera, your CLS will be able to enter and leave parking spaces automatically. The system will search for and select a parking space. CLS’s with the Active Steering Assist system will have a steering wheel that can detect the driver’s hands with its two-zone sensor pad in the steering wheel, and sensors on the front and reverse sides of the rim can sense if the driver’s hands are on the wheel. If the system detects that there is no driver input will implement the car to go into the semi-automated mode
What does MBUX stand for?
Mercedes ungraded their MBUX also called the Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system. This system is standard on all CLS models. It will display on two large 12.3-inch screens arranged side by side, offering a widescreen effect. The MBUX system is unique as it can learn with its artificial intelligence. MBUX can anticipate what the user would like next. For example, if you call the same person every Wednesday on your drive home, the system will display the phone number on the screen as a suggestion on that day. MBUX will also provide intuitive operation of additional comfort and MBUX functions by movement recognition.
