What’s Under the Hood of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
When it comes to power, Mercedes-Benz brings the goods. The base trim level is teh GLC 300, which comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. If you move on to the GLC 43, it will come with a more powerful and turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. Next comes the spectacular 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, available on the top two trim levels and can pump out up to 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Each of these engines pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and while the first few trims come standard with rear-wheel-drive, you do have the option for all-wheel-drive for added traction. Higher trims come standard with all-wheel-drive.
What features are available for the GLC?
No matter which version of the GLC you go with, it is very well-equipped with all of the latest features. We start with the base GLC 300, which comes standard with heated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, a household-type power outlet, and a universal garage door opener. Best of all, you get the Mercedes Me mobile app which has remote start and parking damage detection. For tech, the GLC 300 has a 10.25-inch screen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and HD Radio. Want to go with one of the higher trims? Then your GLC will be even more sporty as you get some fantastic features such as a sport-tuned air suspension, upgraded brakes, 6-piston front brake calipers, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. You also have the option of a Premium or Multimedia package, which brings you hands-free access, SiriusXM, ambient interior lighting, navigation with augmented video, and speed limit assist.
What safety systems are available for the GLC?
Every version of the GLC comes standard with several safety systems designed to keep you and your family nice and secure no matter where you travel. One standard safety system is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System that will warn you if another vehicle is traveling in your blind spot while you’re changing lanes or backing up. Another standard safety system is a Forward Collision Mitigation system which will warn you if a frontal collision is imminent and can even apply the brakes if you fail to do so. Finally, a standard Automated Parking System can steer the GLC into its parking lot with little to no driver intervention. Higher trims have the option Driver Assistance Package, which has Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Change Assist.
